The photo stops him cold. He remembers the kiss they shared in a hotel room in 2009, the year everything could have begun. He remembers how 2016 ended — not with joy, but with silence.     It’s been eight years since rockstar Chester Bennington died and it’s only been a measly seven months since Emily Armstrong had gotten up to take his place. It’s different, of course, but at least she fits in and is good friends with the others despite their age gaps and differences. Life’s changed for her and Linkin Park, and maybe it did for the better than it was after Chester’s passing. Maybe she was doing good after all by leading Linkin Park to a new era. Perhaps if Chester was still here, he would’ve been proud of her; but those were questions that would remain unanswered, or so she thought…Soon strange things began to happen to Emily. Peculiar things, whether that be blackbirds in the sky, weird coincidences seemingly directed at her, off-putting sensations, nearly anything. And everything seemed to lead her to come across a strange little boy who seemed just as lost as she was. And what was supposed to be a stern confrontation turned into a disturbingly “coincidental” connection, making Emily realize that who she was talking to wasn’t someone from here, but was the past version of someone.
