Summary
Life was pretty good for Lilly.
Things in her day-to-day had finally achieved a sense of normalcy: She was living with her friends, had a decent job, paid rent on time and spent her weekends off at the Triangle, her favorite bar in town. And at last she had come out to her friends about her true self. It had taken a while for Lilly to settle into her new life, but finally, she had learned to accept who she was and keep moving forward.
So you can imagine that popping into a colorful cartoon world with strange people staring at you like they had seen a ghost didn't sit too well with her.

Life was pretty good for Pomni.
Things in the circus had finally achieved a sense of normalcy: She and Ragatha got hot cocoa every weekend, Caine was almost fully off his antics, Kinger was lucid, Gangle and Zooble enjoyed their private time together... and Jax, despite having abstracted months prior, was still sleeping peacefully in his tent. It had taken a long time for Pomni to accept that he was gone, but finally, she had learned to let things between them go.
So you can imagine that seeing another Jax with flowing purple hair suddenly appear on-stage didn't sit too well with her.
