Satoru throws the car in park and reaches out to pat his knee a couple of times, "I'll bet the inn serves breakfast. Looks cozy, don't you think?"
Suguru leans forward to peer at it through the front windshield.
"It looks alright," he concedes. "All this driving has made me so tired I'll sleep just about anywhere."
Next to me, then, Satoru doesn't say. He kicks dirt as he rounds his car and grabs Suguru's bag for him. Sleep next to me.

asra glares at him. it's a good glare, fiery lavender and burning bright beneath the waning moon's light. "you," he grits out, "are an idiot."
he turns on his heel, slamming the door as he heads back to pick up his book. julian sticks his foot in the way just before the door closes and lets out a quiet curse, flinching at that, too. he steps inside, kicking his boots off by the entrance. asra doesn't look at him as he settles down again, book in hand and faust on his back, curled soft around his neck.
"okay," julian mutters, slowly, "i see that you're mad at me."

the tension and angst was honestly so delectable i reread this all the time, 10/10

Summary
Soobin smells like the cheap, generic-brand body wash that they all share, and something about pine-lemon on his skin and peach drink from the store down the street on his breath has Kai ripping the curtain aside, stepping out onto the slick, tiled floor with soap suds still all over him. The arduous task of getting dressed without drying off has him slipping and sliding, gripping the towel rack for balance.
Soobin holds the shower curtain around his body as he pokes his head out, pout settled like rose petals on his bottom lip. "Wait, what-"
"Shower's all yours," Kai says with a wave of his hand. He sprints out of the bathroom, closing the door so hard it rattles against the frame.
Or, the one where Kai meets Soobin, and falls in love through the five senses.
