Nicholas shuts his mouth, turning to him.
“Bro, look at him.”
“Oh my god.” Maki looks seconds away from putting his head in his hands. “Yeah he’s cute. All round and fluffy or whatever. But can we please focus on what we came here for?”
“What did we come here for?”
“To make pots!”
“Bro, fuck the pots.”
“Please don’t do that,” Maki says. “We’ll definitely get kicked out.”
Or, Maki and Nicholas attend pottery classes and Nicholas is very normal about their teacher Euijoo.

Nicholas was not a religious man.
His parents were practical, science based people. Engineers. They found the way the world worked fascinating. They saw the physics in everything—the floorboards, the walls of the house, the garden. Everything was calculated with a particular symmetry to them. Even people.
Nicholas was not his parents.
Reason was not his home, and therefore he had no qualms with falling in love with Byun Euijoo.
