Taki likes how it feels to play pretend. As an idol, he gets to be an elf in a magical forest, or an angel, a sailor, a boxer, hands all torn up and covered in bandages. Often, he gets to be a wolf-pup. And sometimes when he’s running around on all-fours, or holding his hands up like paws going woof, woof, woof, K will crouch down and reach his hand out, fingers pinched together like he’s holding something small, and touch them to Taki’s lips, saying, good boy, Taki, here’s a treat. K will ruffle his hair, and scratch behind his ears. Taki likes playing pretend. He likes being a wolf-pup. And he likes being K’s wolf-pup the best.

Nicholas's eyes lit up at that, and he broke into a full smile, all teeth on display. As much as Euijoo loved his smile, he couldn't bear it right now.

At the age of 15 is usually when a young werewolf goes through what is called their awakening. This is when their primal instincts will finally start to show, their canines will grow a bit longer and sharper, and they will start to learn how to shift. It’s been like that for centuries, wolves of many generations have gone through their awakening, but very rarely does it take any more than a year or two for someone’s wolf to come forward.
Not Taki though, he's pretty sure his family gene skipped him or something, he turned 20 earlier this year and still had not a single sign of awakening. Being a whole five years late is completely unheard of, so he’s totally given up on the idea of ever truly being part of the pack.

And listen. Yudai knows that he's going to hell for what comes out of his mouth next. He's well aware that this makes him terrible. Doesn't stop him from saying "Well, I could show you?"
And that. Well that shuts Taki up for all of thirty seconds. He looks a little nervous when he finally replies, "Would you, Kei?"
