“Say, Laios, you’re a nerdy guy. Have you heard of Dungeons and Dragons?”
Laios’ breath catches in his chest. Senshi is looking at him out of the corner of his eye, his hands still perfectly sectioning balls of dough by feel. This isn’t the first time he’s felt like his boss can read his mind, but this feels like some kind of test. He tries extra hard to read his expression, which is pretty challenging given that half of it is covered with food-safe mesh. After a slightly uncomfortable amount of time he gives up, infers based on previous experience that Senshi isn’t trying to trick him into embarrassing himself and answers honestly.
Or: Laios and co. play D&D!

Akaashi took a breath, willing the rest of the words to come out. He’d been on the opposite side of this conversation enough times to know how it was supposed to go. Those words, spoken by Bokuto at seventeen, nineteen, twenty-two, had hurt enough to linger, timbre and pitch and intensity all burned into the worn-down edges of his memory: Akaashi, I’m seeing someone!
“Bokuto-san,” he said, his own voice hoarse and cracking. “I’ve been seeing someone.”

Something Akaashi can't decipher flashes across Osamu's features before it’s gone completely, replaced by the usual stoicism.
A few seconds pass before Osamu lets out a soft, “Hm. Okay then.”
Akaashi Keiji and Miya Osamu have a one-night stand. One of them falls in love with the other over a bowl of wantanmen.

Summary
Atsumu stays at Osamu’s for the night and Akaashi picks exactly the wrong time to take a leap of faith.
He props himself up on an arm after a fruitless scroll through his phone, reaching for the remote with the intention of finding some good pay-per-view movies to charge to Osamu’s account when the doorbell rings.
Bokuto-kun’s cute friend Akaashi Keiji stands in the building’s hallway, teal eyes blinking wide at the sight of him.
“Hello?” Atsumu finally asks after a long, silent moment.
“Hi,” Akaashi blurts out, hand coming up as if to adjust his glasses before he realizes he isn’t wearing any.
