Summary
You know as well as I do how these stories usually end.
Boy meets boy. Boy falls in love with boy. Boy gets too attached. Boy scares the other boy off. Boy is then left heartbroken and miserable, and swears off love entirely.
In this particular story, Boy also happens to be a Prince. The prince - the most important prince in the world. And the boy - the prince - is a hopeless romantic. He was always bound to love again. It’s what makes his story so heartbreaking, in the end.
