Barty chuckles as well, holding on tight to him, “You should carry me around like this more often.”. He jokes, but his face still flushes a light shade of crimson as if he hadn’t meant to say it.
“Yeah?”, Evan says with amusement at Barty’s drunkenness.
“Yeah”, Barty confirms, suddenly more sure of himself, his arms tightening possessively around Evan’s neck. “I like being carried by you.”
Evan snorts and Barty gives him a playful glare.
“What? You think I don’t mean it?”, he teases. “I do mean it. I like the way your arms feel around me.” Barty continued bluntly, the seven shots had probably loosened his tongue and lowered the filter. Not that Barty usually had a filter but he definitely had one when talking about how he felt about his best friend.

Regulus steals the scroll back, rolls it, and wacks him on the head with it. “Shut it,” he says, so James drops the subject and eyes the scroll instead.
“What’s this, then? Are we conjuring the devil?”
Regulus kisses his teeth. “I have… rules.”

Summary
Regulus is in search of change, for something to fill the ever growing void in his chest that has been inside him for as long as he can remember. He leaves Paris and his ballet company behind to move back to London, where his friends, his old company and his brother are waiting for him. He tries to fill the void with all sorts of unhealthy things, but something—rather someone keeps trying to get in the way.
James is happy with his life, he’s good at his job, he loves his friends, he has a nice flat, so why isn’t that enough? Why is the smile that he’s had plastered across his face all his life starting to feel forced? He’s met head on by a force of nature, a storm in the form of a mean, stubborn and ridiculously pretty ballet dancer and he starts to realise what he’s been missing all this time.
