Barty is enjoying the tail end of summer before starting senior year with all his friends, when his father suddenly drops a bomb. He's being shipped off to some prissy French boarding school instead. He prepares to drag himself through a lonely, boring, miserable semester until he can make his return home after winter break.
Much to his surprise however, a surprisingly fun bus ride and the gorgeous man sharing his dorm room leave him feeling surprisingly optimistic for the next five months.

Barty Crouch Jr. is bored.
Stuck in Azkaban for crimes he may or may not have commited, he would like nothing more than to get back to a simple life in the countryside (alongside Evan Rosier if possible) and put all this icky death eater business behind him.
Sirius Black is angry.
Condemned to a lifetime in prison for a crime he would rather die than commit, he would like nothing more than to escape, if only to strangle Peter Pettigrew's stupid neck and watch the life drain from his beady little rat eyes. After that, he'll deal with the fact that everybody he knows thinks that he had a hand in the murder of his best friend, including the love of his life, Remus Lupin.
Or rather, an unlikely pair of Barty Crouch Jr. and Sirius Black put aside their differences in order to work together to escape the deadly soul-sucking prison, Azkaban
