So this inconclusiveness doesn’t matter, and Mukai isn’t entitled to knowing why she had lashed out at him in that empty classroom, nor why she’d stopped him to ask that out-of-character question. It turns out that he doesn’t know everything about the high school social hierarchy, much less about Egashira.
Mukai Tsukasa goes into his second year knowing less about Egashira Mika than he had before. It doesn't matter though, not in the grand scheme of things, not really.
