It's tiny thing, meant with nothing but affection, less than even a request, expressed just how Newt would expect from Hermann, only Hermann, all of it so very, very Hermann, but. But.
Recovery isn't linear, it's a spiral going up and out and around and around. And it's nice to have someone there to help pull you up, and hold you for a while after.

Summary
They let Newt out once they're certain the precursors are gone. He attempts suicide his first night free. He's planning to do so again when he gets out of the hospital, but then Hermann invites him into his home, so he decides to have one last hurrah. He wants to live, then, but he can't just for Hermann. Newt finds something he can live for.
warnings for intense suicidality- he gets a happy ending, but this fic is all about Newt being suicidal and choosing to live.
