Summary
The fall brings the start of Nick’s last year of high school, increasingly bad weather and lectures from his dad, and a new student to Sunnyvale High. Will calls her Shadysider trash under his breath when their mom isn’t looking, and later she pulls Nick to the side and says, “You’ll make sure she’s welcomed, won’t you sweetie? It’s so nice of Mr. Perry to bring his stepdaughters into his home. I’m sure the younger one in particular will need help adjusting.”
Privately, Nick isn’t too sure what’s so remarkable about it, but he nods for her sake. Mr. Perry’s new stepdaughters won’t impact him anyway.
Or: Ziggy and Cindy’s mom remarries a man from Sunnyvale, and Ziggy is forced to attend Sunnyvale High.
