Sam looks like a live wire, his pupils blown wide and his lips parted as he looks up at Joaquín. Joaquín has seen Sam’s adrenaline-jitters after running a successful mission, but that’s nothing compared with the waves of nervous excitement rolling off of him now.
The whole room is crackling like storm-air before a lightning strike. It’s like all Joaquín’s longing has been tripled and caged in a small room. Holy shit, have Sam and Bucky been dreaming of this the same way Joaquín has?
