Something has been very wrong with Kafka for approximately six hours. It started on a station platform after a mission debrief with Silver Wolf present in person and Blade present on the comms. Kafka knows that something is very wrong because her body has started doing things without consulting her before doing them. Her body has always been her perfect instrument. Her body has been obedient for more than three decades.
Until now, because her body is no longer obedient.

Summary
Himeko has never really been a dog person. They are loud, insistent, unpredictable and always too eager in ways she found vaguely exhausting.
She much preferred bunnies and rabbits. They were creatures that existed without demanding attention, that occupied space gently. Even cats, with their selective affection and careful boundaries, made sense to her.
They did not arrive uninvited. They did not impose.
As such, she's not really sure what to do when the puppy who ran away from home ages ago arrives on her doorstep battered, bruised and sopping wet.
