Summary
It is no secret that the rivalry between Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov brings attention not just to them as players but to their teams and the sport as a whole. It's good marketing is what it i. But after a few years of the same spiel the fans are growing used to it. Attention is starting to dwindle and so somewhere in a meeting an overworked marketing intern comes up with a crazy idea: What if we flipped the story? What if Hollander and Rozanov started dating?
A canon divergent/adjacent fake dating AU in which the NHL is a lot less homophobic (at least enough to let this idea fly), the higher ups actually listen to good ideas, and Shane and Ilya can't resist a competition to be the best at something.
