Draco stared at her, sure he had misheard. “Pardon?”
Hermione looked up at the ceiling, taking a deep breath. “I have it on good— I have heard— oh bloody hell,” she muttered. “I’m bad in bed. I need practice.”
His lungs had entirely stopped working. “Practice,” he repeated dully.
“Yes, practice.”
“At sex.”
“At sex.”
“And you came to me why?”
“Because what else are we going to do here this month?”

Summary
After his A-levels, Draco gets sent by his mother to spend the first half of his gap year with a distant cousin that he had never met. Angry at being sent away but desperate to escape the grip of his father and distance himself from the cruel persona he had embodied whilst at school, Draco goes to stay on his cousins farm. apprehensive of the workload, the animals and his estranged family, Draco arrives to find a world full of people who love each other dearly.
Yet, with each day he spends there, observing those around him, he sees an undercurrent of pain that sometimes breaks through the surface of the British countryside idyll that he had stumbled upon. Intrigued by the mystery, Draco endeavours to understand the world he was thrust upon, and in doing so he uncovers a history of love and loss that brings him closer to the amazing people he has found himself amongst.

“Wh– well– why–” James stammered, attempting to get his bearings, because if he didn’t, and he let Regulus tell him ‘kiss me’ one more time, his heart would probably give out. “Why don’t you get Sirius to help?”
Regulus narrowed his eyes. “Because Sirius would just knock his teeth out,” he said as though it were obvious.
“Yes,” James hissed, “and he’ll knock my teeth out if I kiss his little brother.”
“You can take a hit, Potter, I’ve seen you on the quidditch pitch,” Regulus waved him off, and James groaned, leaning away from him.
“Oh, yeah, great, so I’m the sacrifice,” he sighed.
“Precisely,” Regulus stepped right into his space, and James felt his chest go a little hot.
