Summary
In the summer of 1983, Robin Buckley gets a job at the Hawk, hoping to earn some spare cash and get a little space from her frazzled, overly critical mother. She doesn't expect to find a friend in Jonathan Byers, her awkward, near-silent coworker. Overburdened with responsibilities and used to solitude, Jonathan doesn't think he needs a friend at all. One eventful summer, though, will prove them wrong.
