"So? What do you need help with?" Vodyanitsa asked happily. She had been reading her fans' letters in the green room when Alyosha entered, asking for help with something. He was blushing and fidgeting, so she immediately knew it was about his suitor.
Alyosha went back home to Sretomorozsk for a few weeks. Now he was back, face flushed, and asking for her assistance. "How do you know if a letter is…?" He didn't finish. It looked like he was searching for the correct words to ask what he wanted.
Thankfully, being the romance expert that she was, the water imp was able to put the strings together. Her eyes widened with excitement. "You got a love letter?!"
He sighed. "I'm not sure if it's a love letter."
"They sent you a love letter all the way to Sretomorozsk?!"
"Yes," Alyosha answered quietly. His blush deepened. Pfft! Odette was doing a good job.
Or, Vodyanitsa is sure that Odette is courting Alyosha.
