He stared at the now unfolded, unsent letter he held in his hands. If he’d ever had any suspicion that she might be writing this or even thinking of this, well, a bloke might just remember how much he liked Erin Quinn. Like, really liked her.
And, if he were feeling in an especially scrutinizing mood, he also might be inclined to wonder if she liked him back.

“Because I would've missed you… guys,” he says, pausing slightly at the end. Erin doesn't miss the nervous way he shifts on the couch.
She scoots over closer to him, wrapping both of her hands around his bicep, and rests her head on his shoulder. He melts into the contact, like he always does, and Erin files that thought away for a rainy day.
“I would've missed you too,” she says quietly.
