    He steps forward, now standing so close to the girl his men captured that he has to look down to look into her eyes. To his surprise she doesn’t try to step back but instead faces him with a rage in her eyes. “I know you can understand me, you know?”

    The girl, he has to give her credit for it, still doesn’t respond. She does swallow, the challenge in her eyes dampening slightly. Bellamy huffs out a breath, somewhat pleased, and turns around in order to leave.

    “Clarke.” He hears the girl say from behind him. “My name's Clarke.”
