Summary
After eight long years, Jack finally finds Lacie again. Despite being elated, thoughts of her brother keep picking at him. There is something about Oswald that makes Jack antsy, and he can't figure out what it is. But, when Jack thinks Lacie is losing interest, Oswald is there to pick him back up. The blond falls down a rabbit hole of emotional turmoil with nothing but Oswald to protect him from hitting the ground. Nothing lasts forever though. What will become of Jack if Oswald leaves him too?

“I got a gift from a lady today,” Jack complained. “They’re chocolates. I’m sure of it.”
Oswald turned his head to him lazily, looking at the heart-shaped box Jack waved around with contempt. It had a thick red ribbon wrapped around it, and a small card was strung to it. “Do you like chocolate?” Oswald inquired, not entirely interested—but not disinterested—in his friend's opinion on sweets.
