Summary
In a Teyvat similar to the one you know, yet different, humanity has turned from the ways of magic. Their former leaders, the Arch-mages, also referred to as "Archons" have scattered. Their gnoses, the source of their abundant magical strength, have become legendary artifacts sought after by those who fall against society.
Morax, one of the seven Archons who now goes by "Zhongli", lives an immortal, solitary life constantly on the move to avoid those who come for his gnosis. Weary, and ready for the end, he comes across a demonic creature of the abyss who surprises him at every turn and makes his life worth clinging to a little longer.

Summary
Childe’s grin grows, all teeth. He leans across the table and grips Zhongli by the jaw, pulling them close. “What if I told you I would have brought the damned flowers earlier if I knew what they meant?”
“Then I would call you a fool,” Zhongli whispers, his pupils blowing out, eclipses in the afternoon sun. “You do not know what it means to bed a dragon.”
“Come on, Zhongli,” Childe says, pressing his thumb into Zhongli’s bottom lip. “You know you can’t give me a challenge and expect me to just walk away.”
Zhongli’s lips part on a silent snarl. There’s a thump behind him, and Childe sees the tip of a long, scaled tail curling on the floor. “This is not something to win, Childe. It is something to survive.”
