Summary
“Are you hurt?” Wednesday inquired, seeing the red damp spot on Enid’s unkempt blouse. That explained the smell. Wordlessly, Wednesday strided over to the window, her eyebrow twitching in unperceivable worry.
“Enid. What happened?” Wednesday asked, not giving Enid a chance to answer her previous question. The idea of anyone harming Enid made her inexplicably angry.
“Uh, I fell?” Enid answered, giving a small shrug Wednesday absolutely did not believe. Silently, the raven walked to her side of the dorm. Grabbing out a black first-aid kit her parents insisted for her to take.
“Give me your arm.”

“Oh my gosh, that was SO fun. Wanna eat now? I know you had your banana milk, but Lara’s going to make dinner when she comes back from her friend’s house—wow, did we play for two hours? Anyways, she’s making butter chicken, but not the store-bought kind. What do you think?” Megan spins toward Yoonchae, expectant, wide-eyed, grinning.
Yoonchae isn’t looking at her. Her gaze is lower, drifting just above Megan’s waistband, lingering. Megan frowns. What’s she looking at?
Then she follows Yoonchae’s eyes down. Pink, silvery lines trace across her skin, faint but undeniable. Her stomach twists. Shit. She hadn’t been careful enough.
“Oh.” She can only manage one word. It hangs in the air, small and useless. Her hands fumble, yanking her tank top down, tugging her shorts lower, desperate to hide the other marks on the tops of her thighs.
