Maybe it came from the reckless imagination of a child, Yujin not even considering the possibility that the living conditions here could potentially be worse, but he had wished for this on his fifteenth birthday. If it came in the form of an origin he wasn’t aware of, then he was perfectly fine with that, too. Anything would’ve been a better option than the words that were practically branded into his skin, digging itself into his brain whenever he would try to remind himself that everything would be okay.
Everything wouldn’t be okay then. Everything can be okay now.

Summary
For a moment, Ricky almost thinks that it had been unfair. Why did he have to be the one enduring these unnecessarily terrible feelings that would end up choking him from the inside had he not admitted anything? Why did it have to be his burden to carry when it could have been anybody else? There was something so oddly bleak about having to be the one with a heavy heart every single time he looked at his best friend.
Because, in Ricky’s eyes, that had been the curse that was supposed to fall upon him instead. He’s always been the kind of guy that would look and watch from the sidelines, it only really made sense that it would be similar for the case of love as well.

The burning pain is starting to come back again. It begins in his chest this time, slightly to the right. Yuuji swallows, reaching up to press his hand against it.
So, he thinks dazedly, as the universe begins to take him apart. This is what happens when you break a Binding Vow.
