Buck’s jaw clenches. “This isn’t you.”
Eddie’s smile turns mean, borderline unrecognizable even to himself. Buck is right, this isn’t him. It doesn’t even sound like his voice. But he’s exhausted. He’s hurt. And he’s done pretending there’s a way out of this that doesn’t involve blood in the water—they’re too far gone for that.
This wasn’t the plan, but he doesn’t pull back from the fight. He doubles down, clinging to the belief that devastation is better than emptiness, that being hated is better than being erased.
“Funny,” Eddie says softly. “Is that what you tell yourself when you fuck anyone who’ll have you? That it doesn’t mean anything? That it’s easier than admitting you’re trying not to think about me?”

Summary
What if TK and Carlos broke up after the whole 'this is my friend, TK' incident?
TK is in LA for a few weeks to get away from everything back home. He texts Buck, asking if he wants to 'get together'. Buck has just watched Eddie head off on a date with Ana, final proof that he'll never get to have the relationship that he wants with Eddie so he happily agrees.
But they both know that the other isn't the person that they want to be with. Dumbass and Dumbasser come up with a plan to show their true loves just exactly what they're missing out on.

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

The sting of Christopher’s icon being 800 miles away in El Paso nearly takes his breath away. He can’t let himself look at it for too long. It looks like Maddie’s at work, and when he zooms in on Eddie—no that can’t be right.
