He could picture sails and a grinning flag with a straw hat. Could hear the trill of a violin, bubbling laughter and swords being sharpened and polished. Could smell sweet perfume, meat and ocean. Summary
Catalina twists his words around, and he watches her do it. He lets her make up new words when his don’t get her far enough. His sense of self unravels quickly, and he accepts this version of himself without comment because it keeps her happy. His boundaries don’t exist. He doesn’t think there’s anything she can do it him that he wouldn’t let happen.
She just didn't account for how deeply Dick mourns his brother.
