Summary
Matthias moves to get up, but Florian pulls him down by his ratty collar.
“Uhm—” Matthias chokes, meeting the fire in Florian’s pale yet simmering eyes. “Is something wrong? Does it still hurt somewhere?”
Their faces are nose to nose. Florian traces a gloved hand across Matthias’s jaw, tracing the outline, the worn and torn fabric tickling his skin. His pale lashes dip and his eyes drop down to Matthias’s lap fleetingly.
Matthias swallows.
“It does hurt somewhere,” Florian pouts, his bottom lip jutted as he graces a singular pointed finger against it. “Right here. Tell me you’ll kiss it better?”
Matthias unconsciously leans closer. “Florian,” his breath shudders through his nose. “Now?”

Summary
“What a pathetic little creature.” The Necromancer muttered to the injured bird, “You will soon be dead out here in the cold, you know?” Speaking the words was straining his throat but with how he was sure his body would tear itself apart soon enough he could care less about that.
He could put this miserable creature out of its pain, and spare himself some more moments of existence in the process too. He could do that. That would certainly be expected of him.
