Summary
Anne looked at the young man in front of her. He was probably her age, and certainly no older than Prissy Andrews. He was handsome, too. Not quite as fair-haired as Cole, but not so dark-haired as to remind her of someone she'd very much like to forget just now.
"It's fine, really," Anne assured him. "It was my fault. It…" It always is. She'd tried to keep the waver from her voice, but now she knew she wouldn't be able to trust it.
The young man certainly seemed to notice. "Are you injured?"
Anne shook her head and bit her lip against the tears she knew would run contrary to her assertion.
The young man looked skeptical. "Well, in any case, let me assure you that you were not at fault, and allow me to make amends." He offered his hand. "Royal Gardner."

Summary
The din had stopped by the time Gilbert was halfway to the house. It had gone eerily quiet, in fact.
A muffled squeak of fear from above caught his attention, and Gilbert's heart dropped into his stomach as he looked up. Anne was standing on the window frame leaning out toward the tree, clearly reaching for something. Her fingers were only barely hooked under the top of the window frame, and her feet were practically on the side of the house rather than the sill.
---------
Anne attempts a daring rescue, Gilbert witnesses a horrific event, and the aftermath... well, that would be telling, wouldn't it? -

Summary
"Wait, what? Holly, what did she have?"
Holly looked troubled. "I couldn't see it well, but some kind of… wire frame? Something like a hairband, actually."
"Then why would she need Lockwood to go with her?" George pressed. "What did she have to show him that she couldn't already?"
Horrified comprehension dawned on Holly's features. "That wasn't Lucy, was it?"
George shook his head and began to move, grabbing Holly's elbow so she'd follow. "I mean, it was, but it wasn't—This happened once before. She held a Source and… I mean, I don't think she was exactly possessed, but she was able to channel the ghost's last moments as though they were happening to her—"
A shout from Lockwood cut him off. "Lucy, what the hell are you doing?!"
------------
After learning that possession is more possible than they thought, Lucy (and the rest of Lockwood & Co) have a very rough few days.
Takes place solidly in the showverse, during a theoretical Empty Grave adaptation.
