“Why were you looking for me?” he asked, voice rough from disuse.
Hiori exhaled softly. “Ya weren’t with us for the bow,” he said. “I was worried.”
Rin blinked from under the towel. Worried? Hiori had noticed his absence—and worried? The thought didn’t seem possible.

Hiori snorted. “Can’t say I’m surprised. You’ve a nasty tongue ‘n a sharp mind. What can I do ‘bout it?”
“You’re a sadist.” Rin said it like a fact, not a flaw. “So if I asked you to punish me whenever I cross the line—no mercy, no filter—you’d do it.”
