Summary
Johnny has suddenly gone missing.
Daniel grows curious as to where he could have gone, leading him into the ominous forest he can’t remember if it ever existed until now.
Something is wrong when Daniel can’t find his way out of the darkening forest for hours.
When Daniel approaches a small clearing, he walks out to find he is in Encino.
Suspicions arise when there are no morning runners, no car traffic, no one. Empty, void of anything living, until he notices Johnny outside of his house.
Daniel has to make sense of a world that consists of only the two of them, and they fall in love in the process.
Alternate Universe: Daniel and Johnny end up in an eerily familiar world that looks just like the valley but they are the only ones there.

Didn’t think I’d actually do this.
I thought about crumpling this up, tossing it, and pretending I forgot. But for some reason here I am.
They gave me the name “HotRod.” I didn’t pick it, but whatever. I do like cars. Fast ones. Things that make you feel like you're not stuck.
Everyone thinks I’ve got it good. I’ve got friends. A reputation. I win fights. So that must mean everything’s perfect, right?
But no one sees what happens after school. No one sees how hard I have to work to keep the act up. There’s no room for mistakes.
There’s a guy I live with, he’s not my real dad. But he drinks like it’s his job and reminds me every day how lucky I should feel to even live in the same house.
Anyway, I’m not saying this so you’ll feel bad. I just figured if I had to write something honest, I should start with something true.
