Summary
"No one roams these halls that I don't know about," he says with such confidence that Mark has no doubt in believing it. The statement should sound arrogant, but Mark has an uncanny feeling that the words hold weight rather than the levity that it would sound coming out of anyone else's mouth. Who exactly is this boy?
Mark is burning with a desire to find out.

Summary
Felix's fingers catch on one of the clips. “Oh, this is pretty. Where’d you get it?”
Hyunjin debates telling him the truth. My stalker got them for me. Apparently he’s rich enough to afford two thousand dollar hair clips. He leaves me long, rambling voicemails. He knows where I live. He thinks I’m beautiful. He says he’s been dreaming about me.
It sounds insane even in his own head.

Bookmarker's Notes
The looming eeriness (!). The suspense (!!). The buildup (!!!).
I love the false sense of safety throughout because we're reading from Hyunjin's pov. That semblance of safety ultimately disappears when we get to the chase scene, and it flips everything on its head; you can see the dynamic for what it is: Changbin as the predator and Hyunjin as the prey.
Throughout, the reader can be goaded into the impression that Hyunjin is in power (because he naively thinks he is and we are cleverly limited to his perspective), but with one glimpse behind the proverbial curtain, you know that isn't the case. You can finally grasp that Hyunjin may be just a bit over his head.
The chase scene serves as the perfect climax to all the building tension between the two, and the sex felt like post-coital bliss because we finally got that feeling of gratification. Sexual gratification for both Hyunjin and the reader.
Tl;dr Kind of like looking at something through frosted glass—you know something’s on the other side but you don’t know exactly what. Just that something is there (i.e., that looming cloud of suspense and eeriness throughout the narrative). The chase scene is the glass sliding open/to the side, and then everything takes shape (the fundamental dynamic and the intensity of the situation)—the thing that you saw and knew was on the other side of the frosted glass you can now see clearly and is identified.

Summary
Park Jisung was a control freak.
If Jaemin was clingy and touchy, then Jisung wanted to own him. He knew where Jeno was at any moment, and wanted to see him every hour. He wasn’t quite like Jaemin who just wanted Jeno to pay attention to him all the time, he was far worse. Park Jisung meant it when he said he would rather kill.
Jeno wasn’t much better. He liked it.

Bookmarker's Notes
Jaemin considered the words, “Maybe in the way a pet feels possessive over its owner. I’m the owner, he’s the pet.” Jeno frowned. Making sense of Jaemin’s relationship with Jisung was a fight. Jaemin could tell, so he simply laughed, rubbing Jeno’s head lovingly, “Don’t think about it too much, puppy. It’ll be fine, trust me.”
the dynamics here scratched my brain in just the right way—that dichotomy between how Jaem and Jisung are with Jeno and how they are with each other was delicious.

Summary
Chris feels dizzy, swaying. His thumb swipes the ridge of Felix’s hipbone without permission; he only knows it happens because he’s watching it, watching where his pale hand spans over Felix’s tiny waist. He adjusts his grip, and looks at Felix’s face. “You don’t want me.”
“I do, I promise I do.” Felix’s tongue darts out, slides across his bottom lip. It’s so red, so wet. He probably tastes so sweet. Chris is going to go insane if he stays in this room. “I promise.”
You said you didn’t, Chris wants to remind him, but he doesn’t. Whatever the pollen is doing to Felix is already cruel enough, he doesn’t need to add his own shit to it. “Let me get Changbin for you,” Chris pleads, control slipping as desperation creeps into his voice. “Please.”

the angst. the inner turmoil. I ached for these characters. despite never getting a glimpse into anyone else’s thoughts on the matter while being limited to Chan’s pov, you’re still able to grasp the emotional gravity of this sudden situation for all parties involved (Felix and even Changbin). there is just so much underlying complexity to these relationships hidden in between the lines and within subtleties in their actions and carefully curated words and in every word that goes unspoken.
by the end of this, you’re just left with this harrowing? empty? feeling. …it was perfect. beautifully constructed and written.

Summary
When he’s shooting, Donghyuck thinks about nothing else but the subject and his art. It’s like the whole world vanishes, narrowing down to the pinpoint that is just his camera, and Jaemin. Nothing else matters in that fleeting moment of serenity.
But when it’s over, then Donghyuck is forced to confront the truth. When the barrier of his camera is gone and all that is left is the open plane between them, just a couple of steps before he hits Jaemin’s warm body, Donghyuck is left with the unshakeable knowledge that nothing will ever be as beautiful to him as Jaemin.

Bookmarker's Notes
This Jaemin was an absolute delight. I adore him. The prose, metaphors, and imagery were beautiful. There were so many beautiful standout excerpts. I was keeping a list at first to quote and then annotate/geek out about, but then I realized I'd be essentially quoting the whole thing. A couple, though:
His gaze sweeps up Donghyuck's body and it feels like a lover's hand, soft and heavy. Lingering.
His expression is pinched, pained but still so open, and Donghyuck gets the distinct feeling that he's standing over Jaemin while he lays on a table, his chest flayed open on either side of him. Donghyuck can see his heart beating under snow white ribs, and he can see every single one of Jaemin's emotions in that brief moment. Then Jaemin blinks and the mirage vanishes.

Summary
“How’s life going?” Ryujin asked from Seungmin’s phone screen. She was making pasta very badly as they talked. “Are you still avoiding that guy you were mooning over?”
“He’s my stepbrother now.”
The arm with the spatula spasmed, and a single penne went flying across Ryujin’s temporary kitchen. “Are you joking?”
“No.”
She sighed. “Seungmin, maybe you should call your therapist again.”
“Maybe I should,” he agreed. “It’s pretty fucked up.”

Bookmarker's Notes
Love how there was (as the tag suggested) ‘Inappropriate Humor’ interspersed with Seungmin’s inner angst; it was balanced very well. This excerpt got a giggle out of me:
“I’m sorry, baby.”
Seungmin laughed and found it genuine. “You can’t call me that,” he said. “What would our parents think?”
The taxi driver looked back at them, wide-eyed.
Changbin rubbed his hands down his face and then scrubbed through his hair. His ears were flaming red. Also, the mini Ryunjin interludes were perfect.
Bin’s characterization throughout encapsulated all the little things I love about him, but this excerpt, in particular, conveys how he has that large presence without being overwhelming instead it’s grounding:
“I want to help.”
“I don’t want you to help.”
“I want to help regardless,” Changbin said. His hand was still on Seungmin’s wrist, a weightless shackle.
Suddenly the exhaustion hit, and Seungmin felt the fight leave him. He wanted to be held. Ever since they’d met, he’d somehow known that Changbin’s arms were the safest place to be.Actually, it was me who was feeling entirely too seen—this resonated a bit too much:
“Not her way of thinking, but yours. Finishing things before they have a chance to start. Protecting yourself from the ending of it all.”
He didn’t know what to say to that. He felt entirely too seen.
Immediate thought was Seungmin’s words to Bin (“You’re always so reliable, both on the outside and inside.” "I'm okay, since I have you.") Steadfast, reliable Seo Changbin:
“If you need me, I’ll come.”
“Okay.”
“I mean it, Seungmin.”
Seungmin kissed him. “I know.”
