she leans forward suddenly, unbuckling her seatbelt with a sharp click. the sound cuts through the tension like a blade.
“what are you doing?” he asks.
“proving a point,” she says.

It’s like a math problem, really, if she thinks about it. a + b = c, and all she has to do is fill in the variables. She’ll get an answer. Easy. She’s good at math. Its a problem to solve. One answer. Reasonable.
