Summary
On his knees, his feet tucked under his thighs, Megumi curiously traces his fingers over the embroidery on Satoru’s upper arm. The Police symbol on his uniform. But before they can pull away, Satoru puts his hand on top of the little one’s. He gently takes Megumi’s middle and index finger to stalk them along each letter on the embroidery.
“Do you know what I am?” he asks.
Megumi turns his gaze from his own small hand in Satoru’s, back to the taller’s blue eyes once more.
“Mhm,” he nods. “You’re an angel.”
In short, Satoru, a young officer, is called to intervene in a domestic dispute involving a drunk man and his son, and is taken aback by the heavenly little child that is Megumi, who clings to Satoru the instant he sees him.
