Steve rolls his eyes and immediately deflects. “How about you, man?” he forces himself to ask, not sure why he really doesn't want to know the answer. “Any dates lately?”
Danny scoffs and waves one hand dismissively. “As if I have time for that. While you’re trying to save the citizens of Oahu, I’m too busy trying to save Oahu from you.”
Steve wonders for a second why that answer relaxes him—why it eases the tight knot in his gut—but before he can think about it too hard, their phones are ringing, Chin is on speakerphone reading out an address, and Steve is pulling a sharp u-turn and speeding toward a crime scene.
