Soulmate /ˈsōlˌmāt/ noun: a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner
Past and ongoing studies have shown that those involved in the letter writing become what researchers refer to as “connected” or “a match” while the general public has taken to referring to their match as a “soulmate.” Despite the exhaustive research into what is commonly referred to as the “Soulmate Phenomenon” there is no clear answer for when or where the letter writing began. While the world may never have an answer to why we write the letters or how the matches are made, research has found that a set of unwritten rules govern the letters and guide the writers.
On his fifteenth birthday Nick Nelson slips a letter into a mailbox unsure of where it will end up. Two hundred miles away thirteen year old Charlie Spring holds the same letter with shaking hands
