Was he really doing this? Was he ready for this? Maybe he should wait a bit longer, walk around the maze a bit, go visit the levers one last time, just a quick detour.
Apo scrunched his eyes, forcing the thoughts out of his brain. If he was going to do this, he was going to do it now.
Taking a deep breath, Apo looked at the maze one last time and stepped forward into the clearing.

what if apo went back to the clearing, instead taking a "quick detour" and running into owen in the maze?
