JJ reached out for her hand this time as they walked towards the elevator.
When Emily pressed the button, JJ interlaced their fingers - slow, deliberate.

Summary
Emily prentiss and Jennifer Jareau meet when they're kids after Emily moves to her hometown. Emily is weird, reclusive, and the definition of someone JJ wants to be friends with - and she successfully does so. However, despite herself, JJ ends up falling in love with her (or, at least as in love as you can be at thirteen) until Emily's mom finds out about their relationship and sends Emily away to boarding school.
After Emily is sent away, JJ spends years writing letters. Not a single one is returned.
So when she sees Emily Prentiss walk into the BAU after twenty years of thinking she's dead, she can't help but want to know what happened - only issue, now she's married.
