Summary
Four months.
Four months of this.
The headaches started first — dull and manageable. A throb behind his right eye that pulsed in time with his heartbeat. He ignored it. Drank more coffee. Slept less.
Then the nosebleeds.
At first just a smear when he wiped his face.
Now—
Something warm slides over his upper lip.
He freezes.
Slowly, he lifts his hand.
Red.

Summary
Mike Wheeler has a fucked-up brain. He's known that about himself for years. And he's come to terms with it.
But when he wakes up in the Roane County Psychiatric Ward with a broken wrist and a fractured tibia, he's forced to face the idea of healing, with only a pair of nurses, a psychiatrist, and a few other mentally ill teens by his side.

Summary
Will settles for a small hum instead, not sure that Mike is in the right state for another encroaching love confession, not that he properly understood the first, not that Will let him.
Mike replies with a question, “How are you?”
Will can feel his forehead crease with the inquiry, typical Mike, checking up on Will in the face of his own broken body. “Me?” Will states, incredulous, knowing his face is telling Mike the same thing.
OR: After a nasty attack Mike ends up in hospital, Will visits him.
