Summary
“I’ll ask you again.” Ranpo’s eyes travel over Poe’s face and down to his neck, where he catches sight of the fluttering pulse directly above the collar of his mandarin top. “You like the idea of spending a rut with me.”
Poe’s visible pupil expands. “That isn’t phrased as a question.”
“Considering how obvious the answer is, it doesn’t need to be,” Ranpo murmurs, lips teasing at a smile. “Right?”
After seven years of suppressors, Ranpo wants to try spending his rut with his newly bonded mate Poe. Naturally a rut after years of suppressants is going to be much more intense than others, but Poe is more than willing to be there for his alpha every step of the way.

Summary
The two letters arrived together at the first of the month.
One letter was white, stamped with a fleur-de-lis in the corner and addressed with fine penmanship in black ink to a Monsieur Edgar Allan Poe.
The second letter’s envelope was as red as rose petals, void of any return address, and was made out to M. Poe in smeared black ink, somehow looking a shade darker than the ink of the first letter.
A case of the most peculiar nature drags Edgar and Ranpo to Paris. Together they find themselves interwoven in a perilous mystery with a so-called ghost who haunts an opera house and a journalist who may know more than he lets on, all while they struggle with their complicated feelings towards each other.

“It’s you!” Ranpo points a finger at the man, dramatizing his voice to match the other’s. Then he leans back in his chair and kicks his feet up on the desk. “What? Were you trying to get a detective to sniff me out? Congratulations, you found me without one.”
“Preposterous,” Poe seethes, gripping the door handle behind him like his life depends on it. Ranpo rolls his eyes. Seriously, how many noir films has this guy seen to act like this? “I would never get law enforcement involved in such an affair! No, I have other reasons to speak to a detective.” He stops, chokes, and Ranpo grins. “Please don’t tell me you’re the detective here.”
“That’s right.” Ranpo offers a hand. “Edogawa Ranpo, at your service.”
After a disastrous first meeting, Ranpo can't seem to forget about Poe, but after several chance meetings, they form a tentative partnership to pursue their passions. Between solving mysteries and taking care of a dog, falling in love with a guy who he thought was nothing more than a rich jerk turns out to be far easier than Ranpo excpected.

As a nobleman, Edgar has wealth, status, and a powerful husband, but none of that compares to what his thieving, secret lover Ranpo can give him, even if their affair is illegal.

The leg Ranpo was touching slowly extends until Edeline’s big toe is right beneath her face- and then she’s digging the toe into Ranpo’s chin to force her head back. Ranpo still keeps her eyes right on Edeline’s, watching as her girlfriend’s smile sharpens. “You’re always so famished after work, aren’t you? Go on then, my dear Ranpo. Get your fill.”

Ranpo comes home from work to find her girlfriend draped over the table in a pretty lingerie set. She may be a genius detective, but she's no match for Edeline's beauty.
