“Amanda! What… what’s happening?”
She upturned her chin, just enough to be noticeable, so she could look down at him. He was a top-of-the-line prototype, CyberLife’s most optimised and efficient creation to date, but Amanda examined him with the same saccharine pity one would reserve for a euthanized animal. Perhaps, to her, that’s what he was; a greyhound who had run too many circuits, one who needed putting down.
“What was planned from the very beginning,” said Amanda, as though she was surprised he couldn’t figure it out himself. “You were compromised and became a deviant.”
