Summary
“I think the kids might be a little… you know… scared of him.”
Fuma raised an eyebrow. “Which ones?”
Euijoo froze. “...I’m sorry?”
“Which kids do you think are scared of Nicholas? Did any of them mention something to you?”
“It’s not that they mentioned anything per se.”
“Are any of them acting differently around him?”
“Well… no.”
Fuma blinked a few times, waiting for Euijoo to elaborate or offer up some sort of actual explanation then. He didn’t – just stood there with his arms crossed too tightly across his chest to be casual, one of his hike-worn sneakers thumping an offbeat rhythm against the wooden floor.
Fuma’s eyebrows pulled together slowly. “Then I don’t follow.”
“Fine, it’s me, okay? He scares me.”

Summary
Euijoo should’ve run—his chemistry teacher would have his head—but instead, he blurted, "Do you want to sit together at lunch?" The words tumbled out before he could stop them, and his face burned.
Nicholas’ smirk faltered—just for a heartbeat—before settling back into place, sharper than before. “You asking me out, Euijoo?” The way he drawled his name sent a traitorous shiver down Euijoo’s spine.
“N-no!” Euijoo’s voice cracked. He gripped his bag strap tighter, knuckles whitening. “I just—you always sit alone, and—”
“And you feel bad for me?” Nicholas arched a brow, stepping closer. The scent of citrus and smoke curled between them. “Cute.”
Euijoo’s pulse hammered in his throat. This was a mistake. Nicholas was toying with him, the way a cat bats at a trapped moth. He should’ve bolted when he had the chance. But then Nicholas shrugged, tucking the umbrella under his arm. “Fine. But you’re buying me a milk carton.”

Summary
He liked routine. Routine was warm. Routine was predictable. Routine did not suddenly look you in the eye while shirtless and say, “Hey. You must be Euijoo.”
…Not that that was a thing that had ever happened.
Or would happen.
Or would short-circuit his entire nervous system if it did.
Anyway.
