"Yuma? You there?"
Yuma snaps out of it. Poor Jo—he'd left him hanging. "Yeah, sorry. He texted me."
"Nicholas?"
"Harua."
"Oh." Jo sounds a little confused. "What did he have to say?"
"He's giving me tips on how to seduce his brother," Yuma replies. With new energy, he springs from the mattress and throws his closet doors open, squeezing past his parents’ storage boxes to rummage through the hangers. "I guess I have to sneak a crop top into my outfits this week somehow."
A pause. The scratching of pencil against paper on the other end. "This deal seems odd," is all Jo says, before falling silent again.
(or: yuma, a burnt out college sophomore on summer break, and harua, a wannabe rebel stuck in gap year hell, make a deal with nicholas as the collateral. other things end up on the line, too.)

“Hey, hey.” Nicholas’s brows draw together when he feels it. His hands slide down to Yuma’s hips, holding him still. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Nicho, are you wearing it?” Yuma gasps, already too far gone to sound coherent.
“Am I wearing what—”
“You know what!” Yuma squeaks, clutching at Nicholas’s arms, fingers digging into the fabric stretched over his biceps. “The strap . . . do you have it on?”
Or, trapped in one closet and one very inconvenient heat, Yuma learns exactly how impossible it is to hide from his husbands.

Nicholas resisted the urge to groan. This again.
“Your highness, you’re the only prince of this kingdom,” the minister implored, "An heir is needed to secure the dynasty, and the longer that is delayed, the more vulnerable this kingdom and the royal family is. We cannot afford to just wait and hope that the Prince Consort shall fall pregnant at some point.”
Nicholas resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “I’m afraid that’s the only thing we can do, minister. What would you propose we do instead?” he asked tersely.
The prime minister seemed to have hoped for this exact question. “There is an alternative that the ministers wanted to suggest.” he said. “Your highness could marry again.”
