    “I’d say happy,” Fiddleford says, expression still contemplative. “Lots of things to forgive each other for. Feels like we’re still forgivin’ each other, every day.”

    Ford lowers his head. “I don’t imagine my Fiddleford would forgive me.”

    "Heard that from you, before."

    "It's true."

    “I forgave you in this dimension,” Fiddleford suggests. “Why wouldn’t I, there?”

    Over the course of 30 years, Ford travels through parallel timelines, and watches his life pan out in all the ways it didn’t. Three separate times, he lands himself in one dimension in particular: a universe where he is missed, but does not belong.
