Soobin had forgotten the choker was still there, though the heat of Kai’s stare is unmissable.
“Should we take it off?” Soobin fingers the white strap of leather until he finds the buckle, but Kai kisses the skin above it.
“No,” he says, with conviction, fingers dug into Soobin’s hips. “Don't. Please.”

Soobin smells like the cheap, generic-brand body wash that they all share, and something about pine-lemon on his skin and peach drink from the store down the street on his breath has Kai ripping the curtain aside, stepping out onto the slick, tiled floor with soap suds still all over him. The arduous task of getting dressed without drying off has him slipping and sliding, gripping the towel rack for balance.
Soobin holds the shower curtain around his body as he pokes his head out, pout settled like rose petals on his bottom lip. "Wait, what-"
"Shower's all yours," Kai says with a wave of his hand. He sprints out of the bathroom, closing the door so hard it rattles against the frame.

Kai shakes his head fervently no.
Whatever weird arrangement Soobin and Kai have got going on, Taehyun (allegedly) wants no part of it, which becomes impossible when a hotel booking gone wrong drags him right in the middle of things. Whether it’s completely involuntary, though, is up for debate.

The little thoughts had began then, terrifying and a little cruel as he curled in on himself in the armchair he’d settled into as soon as breakfast had been over. Soobin had came over and pressed a hand to his forehead, brows furrowed and lips pursed, but after a soft muttered nothing, he’d patted Kai’s head and let him be. Kai had wanted to reach for him and curl into his chest but as Soobin settled beside Beomgyu again, he’d forced himself to stay put and try to ignore whatever began sprouting in his head.

Soobin sometimes felt it like an itch that couldn’t be scratched and those were the times he focused on Kai so much he took notice of the small little details that made him wonder.
