Joshua picks his head up and lets out a small sigh. Wow. He must really be frustrated, Hansol thinks.
After a beat, Joshua bites his lip and then says quietly, “I’m like. Usually good.”
Hansol hasn’t known Joshua long enough to diagnose the minutiae of his face, but he can tell Joshua is trying very hard to hide how embarrassed he is. It’s charming, in a weird way. Hansol can tell he’s one of those people who doesn’t want their emotions acknowledged, ever.
Fair enough. Hansol can work with that, at least.

Rose’s hands traced lower, touching the first ropes pulling Mia’s elbows together. They were pulled taut, with Mia’s well-trained muscles firm beneath them.
“Master Rose…” the bodyguard's voice was soft, barely a whisper, and sounded one touch away from begging.
Following the line of her arms, Rose bent down to examine the rope around her wrists. Her fingers touched the lines of veins twisting down the bodyguard's exposed arms from her pushed-up sleeves. There were lines that the mafia daughter had touched so many times before, she could almost map it out in her sleep. It was a sign of Mia’s hard work and dedication to her job. A mark of the physical effort she had put in all her life to protect the mafia family.
Rose’s hands brushed against the bodyguard's hands. Mia’s fingers seemed to react on their own, blindly trying to follow Rose’s hands, as if wanting to touch and to hold. Rose watched it with an amused glint in her eye. So needy. Not yet.
