Summary
Sae gradually realizes he is in love with Shidou, but despite intentionally becoming more obvious about his feelings, Shidou continues to miss every hint. Summary
Silence floods the apartment, heavier now that it’s unshared. Ryusei lies there a moment longer, staring up at the ceiling, listening to Sae’s footsteps fade down the hall until they disappear completely. Only then does he exhale, slow and measured, like he’s letting something drain out of him. He pushes himself up and pads toward the balcony.
The night air bites at his skin and the city sprawls below, lights blinking without care or curiosity. Ryusei picks up the cigarette and It’s still warm from Sae's fingers earlier.

Summary
It happened between lectures, in the narrow slice of time when the campus hummed without fully waking. Kaz had taken a shortcut through the old performance annex—a converted warehouse at the edge of campus housing rehearsal spaces, dance studios, and the kind of creative chaos he normally avoided. He only meant to pass through.
Music drifted out first.
Low, almost inaudible. A steady pulse, like a heartbeat slowed down. Kaz stopped without realizing he’d done so, his hand hovering near the doorframe of Studio C.
Inside, a girl was spinning.
Aerial silks—long ribbons of deep crimson fabric—hung from the ceiling, pooling softly on the polished floor. She moved with them as though they were extensions of her body, wrapping and releasing, lifting herself skyward with a strength that looked effortless only because it wasn’t.
Kaz forgot to breathe.

Summary
Kaz was a card dealer at a casino that occasionally skimmed off the side, his movements smooth and practised and untraceable even to the discerning eye.
Some days he spied a girl at his table perched on the lap of one man or another twice her age and size, their meaty hands around her waist like a vice, caging her. She, too, seemed to slips hands into pockets and pluck out wallets when the men that draped over her had their senses too dulled by alcohol. She thought no one noticed, and well, no one did, except for Kaz. And he wasn't going to say anything. For the most part, he simply watched her watch the flow of chips and cash with a dead look in her eyes.
Until one day, when the girl is caught for trying to pick pocket her client. And Kaz finds himself stepping in.

When Inej is caught skimming extra from her clients in order to pay off her debt to Heleen, Kaz offers her a job at the casino dealing cards to make extra money on the side so she can be rid of her debt quicker. In order to skirt Heleen's suspicions however, Kaz must pose as one of her regular clients, so she has an excuse ready to explain why she spends several of her nights at the casino.
