Summary
At the scene of the latest in a string of brutal murders, Prentiss spots a strange boy with golden eyes watching from the crowd. When the team encounters him again in connection with the next attack, Edward Elric winds up entangled in their case, for better or for worse. Something's not adding up, and with time running out, the BAU will have to decide who they can trust in order to solve the case before the killer strikes again.

“The darkness of the moon is the temporal conduit in the array,” Ed’s grin down at Roy is boisterous and genuine. “I figured it out. The eclipse. A method of telling time, with only a few instances of it in recent history. One next year. And then in five years from then. If I use imagery of an eclipse as a conduit for time, I can send myself back.”
Roy makes an affronted sound where he’s barely not asleep, but slowly rousing awake and garnering some suspicion. “I ask again: what the absolute hell are you talking about?”
“If I make you breakfast I promised, will you promise you won’t get mad at me for lying?” Ed asks.
After Ed finds himself in the past, he looks to where he knows he'll be the safest: with Roy.

"“I don’t get it,” Ed said, pulling back just enough to look at Mustang. He couldn’t read his expression through his tears, and that somehow made it worse.
“It doesn’t make sense. What do you want from me?” His voice wavered despite his effort to keep it steady. “I’m a double amputee with a bad attitude. My own dad didn’t want me. Where’s the equivalent exchange?”
He barely had time to breathe before two strong arms wrapped around him, firm and unyielding. Mustang’s voice rumbled against his ear, low and certain.
“Don’t you know, kid? I’m a pirate. We don’t play by alchemists’ rules.” He huffed a quiet, humorless laugh. “When we see something we want, we take it. That’s the exchange.”
His grip tightened just slightly. “You’re my kid. I don’t need you to give me anything else.”Roy Mustang and the crew of the Black Hayate sail from port to port, lending a hand to those in need. Along the way, they meet a kid with big dreams of becoming the world’s greatest alchemist. Summary
Roy Mustang goes out to investigate an explosion, and what he finds is himself. Specifically, his seventeen year old self, shaken and terrified and somehow jumped forwards in time by twelve whole years. How time-travel is even possible evades him, but he knows they need to find a way to send the younger version of Roy back to his own time.
Edward joins the efforts, lending his mind to the problem - but what Ed finds is a sweet kid so in touch with his emotions that he cries all the time and stands up for what's right even at great danger to himself. In other words, the complete opposite of the Bastard Colonel.
As they all work together to send Roy back to the past they inevitably become closer, what starts as friendship turns to more, and questions about who Colonel Mustang is finally let Ed see his CO in a new light.
