Finally, Nancy steps out into the hall. “Mike what do you—” Her expression shifted from annoyed to worried at the sight of blood painting the floor. Her eyes dart over to Will who pushes himself off the floor to look up at them.
Will smiles widely with Mike's blood between his teeth.
Mike grabs Nancy and drags her back into the room, locking it behind him. “Something's wrong with Will.”

Summary
Mike's life is split into two, clean halves. His life in Indiana, in the sun's harsh light, where he's fucked up in more ways than one. And then there's his other life, under the alias of legendarymichael, on the never-ending planes of the Internet. His digital heaven, where Mike exists as an untouchable, faceless deity; worshipped and praised.
Mike is good at keeping the two separate. Or so he thought, until Will Byers collides into his neatly sliced life, and derails it all when he takes a bite from both halves.
Alternatively: Faceless content creators legendarymichael and williamethyst snowball into an online rivalry. With volatile fans and dangerously candid mouths, the pair rain hellfire down onto themselves.
At the same time, Mike Wheeler meets Will Byers at a dog park, and begins to fall in love.

Will's thumb brushed over the pad of Mike's palm as he adjusted the stencil, and he paused for a moment before placing it on his wrist. "You use your hands a lot," he said, casually, like he was just thinking out loud. "Callouses. Little cuts."
Mike swallowed. "Yeah. I, uh, I run the flower shop across the street. Second Bloom."
Will hummed, sounding warm and pleased with himself. "That tracks," he said.
"What does?"
Will smiled, glancing up at him and making eye contact. "You're very careful. And, you smell like greenery."

Summary
Max's eyes dart between Will and Mike, studying them with thinly veiled amusement. She turns to Lucas and nudges him with an elbow. "Was it really this obvious?"
"Yep," Lucas sighs. "The whole time."
Max snorts. "Oh my god. When I get back, nobody is living this down."
Or: Will has seen a lot of things in the past few years, but the arrival of a friend from ten years in the future is… unexpected, to say the least. The ceiling opens up and spits out a twenty-six-year-old Max Mayfield, and the definition of possible expands again.
