Summary
When she surfaces, groggy and yawning, she’ll wander through the house in her Steel Samurai slippers until she finds Franziska (who is often trying her hardest to look as if she wasn’t doing paperwork over the weekend). She’ll kiss her and say good morning and Franziska will say good morning back even though it’s typically past what one might consider morning, but she can forgive the temporal inaccuracy if it means Maya will smile and laugh that soft, breathless laugh of hers against her mouth.
So, on Sunday mornings, Franziska wakes. She rises. She extracts herself from Maya’s grasp, brushing her messy bangs aside so she can press a kiss to her forehead, the two of them protected still from the world outside, wrapped in soft shadow and the light of dawn as stars wink out and pearlescent dew forms on the tips of bowing leaves.
(And if she lingers there for a moment, tracing Maya’s lashes where they rest against the upper curve of her cheekbone, if she stays to watch the way Maya scrunches her nose while she’s dreaming, well, that’s her business.)

Summary
Something glints at him from the sand between his feet, then. It catches his eye and he squints into the water, trying to get a good look at it. Apollo digs into the sand for it, and his fingers brush across something hard. At first he thinks it’s a rock, worn smooth over time by the waves, or maybe a piece of sea glass? He and Trucy used to collect sea glass when they were younger; they had a small jar of glass pieces on the windowsill and it acted like a suncatcher, casting a mosaic of fractured light and colors across the living room floor. But when he pulls it out of the water, he blinks in surprise.
It’s a scale. Teardrop shaped and perfectly smooth on either side, the edges just barely sharp. It’s the size of the pad of his thumb. He frowns at it.
What could be so big as to drop scales this size?
And then, the water surges.in which glassblower Apollo Justice has an unlikely encounter while on an errand for his boss

Summary
You stalled. Of course you stalled. The idea of sitting down and sorting through your brother’s life, packing what remains of him into boxes to be tucked away in your attic like forgotten holiday decorations is not one that appeals to you. But you don’t have a choice, do you, because it’s his house and his things and he’s still your brother; that hasn’t changed. You have to do this, even if it’s unpleasant.
But you’re no stranger to unpleasant things, are you, Klavier?in which Klavier Gavin goes through his brother's things after it's all over.

Summary
“No. You listen to me, Sebastian Debeste,” Kay says, poking her finger at his chest. “We aren’t thinking like that. And you know why just as well as I do. Today is your day, and you worked hard for it. You followed your own path. You busted your ass studying to retake the bar. You put all the work in, all on your own. This whole thing,” she says, gesturing to him, “is all you, you got that? You practically memorized Mr. Edgeworth’s law books. You made all those notecards and binders to study with. You even researched all those old cases specifically so you could specialize in child abuse rather than be a general lawyer. That was you, Seb. Not anyone else. You did that.”
Sebastian bites at his lower lip, shoving his hands into his armpits. He’s not going to cry. He’s not. He’s not. He told himself that he wasn’t going to cry today, but then Kay puts her hand on his arm and looks into his eyes and says in that rare, serious tone of voice of hers that always makes her words sound so sincere: “You deserve this, Sebastian,” and he bursts into tears.in which Sebastian Debeste is sworn in as a prosecutor, for real this time

Summary
Kay hesitates. The tidal wave of her regrets flood up and batter at the dam of her teeth, everything she wants to say dancing there on the very tip of her tongue. But it’s all too hard to get out, to force free, these small words too complex and heavy to put into the lengthy space between them. Her pride like a dragon, difficult to tame and reluctant to admit that she crossed a line.
“Do you want a cup of tea?” Kay says instead, because she’s never been good at saying I’m sorry, not even when she was young.
Sebastian looks down at his hands resting on the kitchen table, his pinky tracing the grain of old wood. He looks back up at her, and when he speaks his voice is careful and quiet. “Okay.”in which Kay Faraday and Sebastian Debeste had a fight, and go through the complicated process of making up over tea

“Well, we can share,” Sebastian says, peering at the flavors. “Half for you, half for me.”
“Yeah? You’d be down to split a PopTart?”
“Only if you share your Starbursts.”
Kay frowns. “…How did you..?”
Sebastian shrugs, a little smile flitting across his lips. “You always have Starbursts when we fly,” he says, the tiniest hint of smugness in his voice. “So…we can get the brown sugar PopTarts if you let me have the pink Starbursts for the return flight home.”in which Kay Faraday and Sebastian Debeste obtain snacks at the airport before the long flight back to Europe

Summary
She spots the man from her perch on the slanted roof of an abandoned cobbler’s stall; he looks like he breathes money, and that’s what draws her to him. His hems are straight, untouched by dust, his clothes perfectly tailored. His hair is clean. His shoes shine in the sunlight, and though she isn’t close enough to hear, she imagines they click click click on the cobblestones of the market square. It’s just past high noon, past the lunch rush, the perfect time for thievery because everyone is in a hurry to get back to work and out of the heat of the day. People in a hurry have a tendency not to notice small hands slipping into jacket pockets. They do not notice her watching on the roof, either, because people never notice crows.
The man checks his pocket watch for the third time as Kay slips off the roof, and when her feet hit the cobblestones she’s shed her feathers and is a girl once more.the story of how Kay Faraday and Sebastian Debeste meet Miles Edgeworth in the story of spirits and seas (which you do not need to have read to read this one!)

“I want you,” Kay says, leaning on Sebastian’s desk, “to help me steal that sheet music.”
“…You can’t do it yourself?” Sebastian says, after a beat.
“Nope. I need you for this heist, Seb. You gotta be my front man.”
He gives her a suspicious look. “Why?”
“Because, Sebastian,” Kay says solemnly, putting her hand on his shoulder. “You’re the Luigi.”in which Klavier Gavin is being suspicious in his office, and Kay Faraday and Sebastian Debeste concoct a Plan

Sebastian isn’t sure what makes him say this over any of his other fears. His other fears would be easy to admit; maybe that’s what makes him say it, because sometimes secrets are difficult to say aloud. He sits up, feeling wisps of hair escaping his bun (he’s taken to wearing his hair up lately, as it gets hot in Europe in the summer), and looks at Kay beside him. “I’m afraid I’m a bad person,” he says, finally.

“…We’re strangers,” the boy said nervously. He quickly wiped one of his eyes with the back of his hand, a panicked motion, like the realization that they were, in fact, strangers just hit him and he needed to stop crying as soon as possible and erase all evidence that he had even been crying at all. “I’m sorry.”
“Well, we can probably fix that, I think!” Kay said brightly, and stuck out her hand. “I’m Kay!”
The boy didn’t take her hand; he just stared at it hanging in the space between them before shyly looking back up at Kay. “I’m…Sebastian,” he replied slowly, his voice shaking and stumbling over the syllables of his own name.in which Kay Faraday and Sebastian Debeste have met once before, when they were kids

Summary
A small hand appears first, clutching at Thalassa’s skirts, followed by a round face and nervous eyes peering shyly around her. He’s wearing a cloak like his mother, except his is a dark shade of crimson, patterned with suns instead of stars. A veil like Thalassa’s covers the lower half of his face, sheer enough where Klavier can just barely see the downturned corners of his mouth. His eyes are wide and brown and pretty, darting back and forth from face to face. His gaze only stays on Klavier for barely more than a moment but when their eyes meet, Klavier feels a tingle down his spine.
“This is my son, Apollo,” Thalassa says, gently pushing the boy forward. “He’s training to become a fortune teller as well.”

Summary
On the day the game arrives, Miles walks a block and a half in the lazy heat of a Saturday afternoon to the house of his acquaintance/best friend/schoolmate/kind of crush with the box in his hands, unopened and unwrapped, to ask him to play it with him.
It’s a questionable decision for a few reasons, but the biggest one being this: Phoenix is terrible at playing games. Genuinely, terribly awful, where he dies about thirty times before he manages to beat even the easy bosses (and when he does beat them, it’s purely out of sheer luck and he has no idea how he accomplished the task afterwards, because he just sits there mashing buttons and screaming the entire time until someone dies, either him or the boss. It’s a chaotic experience for anyone watching). But Miles, again, isn’t going to ask Larry, and his father gets confused by controllers. So there’s only one person left.
With this logic in his brain, Miles knocks on Phoenix Wright’s door and nervously asks him to be his player two.A silly little fic about boys playing video games
