Summary
Keith was unsure about accepting the position of Divine’s Sentinel - the sole bodyguard of the Diviner for the Gods. He only just completed his first real assignment as a fully fledged knight and was in no way experienced enough to take such a highly esteemed position. Not to mention his half-galran heritage during a time of political tension with the Galra Empire made it difficult for him to imagine that he would ever be accepted among the elite Altean nobility that he would be forced to deal with. He’d much rather be out on the border with soldiers who could at least come to respect his strength and abilities as a fighter. Being trapped inside the palace as chaperon to one of Altea’s most important and reclusive leaders sounded boring and altogether uninteresting.
But he found it hard to say no when Shiro looked so stressed.
He had heard about the new Divine. He was about Keith’s age, Altean (of course. they’d never accept anything else), and had spent over half his life inside the palace walls being waited on hand and foot. So he expected he'd be a spoiled boy with a nasty attitude, or maybe he would live up to his title and be serene and wise beyond his years.
He did not expect Lance.

Summary
For Lance, it was a drunken one night stand he could barely remember. One that existed somewhere between his fragmented memories and the 10 second video that he found on his phone the next morning of himself banging a stranger in a dorm bathroom.
For Keith... Well, he hoped it was a sign that things were changing.

Summary
As he dug around in his closet for a change of clothes, he wondered absently if Keith liked dancing. Probably not. He just didn’t strike Lance as the dancing type. He was probably too reserved and too irritable to enjoy something that lively and energetic.
Lance tried to imagine them salsa dancing and he nearly burst out laughing. He could clearly picture the way Keith would screw up his face and stare intently at their feet. Somehow, he would still step on Lance’s toes. And Lance would laugh and peck him on the lips and tell him that he’ll get it eventually.
Wait.
This was going a little too fast.
He barely knew Keith.
Besides, even if Keith did learn to appreciate it, he probably wouldn’t be into the dirty dancing Lance liked to do at the club.

Summary
Keith had been coming to this club about twice a week for a few years now. The music was good, as far as club music went, and the people were usually tolerable. He could get his adrenaline fix and occasionally a good fuck and then go right back to more mundane life. It had been good system, until HE started showing up.
They never spoke; never even danced on the same side of the floor. But they danced together.
And Keith was addicted to it.

Summary
"I hate this. I hate him." Keith spits through gritted teeth, his knuckles going purple with how hard he's squeezing the little black box, and Shiro, - his supposed best friend, - actually snorts at his pain. Keith already regrets everything. This was a bad bad bad idea.
"Sorry." He says, the traitor, and has the nerve to look not sorry at all. "But, you know, if you hate Lance so much, you can just not propose to him."

Summary
"He leans in to hook his arm around Keith’s shoulders in full. It’s right in Keith ear, when he speaks. “I have a crush on someone new, like, every week.”
“No—it's not someone.” Keith brings his head up, and it feels as heavy on his neck as if it were his center of gravity, and he meets Lance’s eyes with his own. Keith doesn’t mean to communicate something through their silence, he just kind of gets caught up in staring at Lance’s face, which tends to happen lately. Sharp features, cheekbones and chin. Impossible eyes and a loud mouth as expressive as his eyebrows. But Lance seems to come to some understanding on his own. He sits back in a rare, rare moment of speechlessness, that mouth of his slightly pursed and twitching in its search for words in what can only be, though Keith doesn’t know much about body language, immense confusion on the brink of realization."
Or: Keith acknowledges his feelings for Lance and promptly goes through the five stages of grief.

Summary
"And, right, of course. He hadn't told Pidge—or Hunk, actually, who was sitting on the other side of the table from him—because somehow “I see dead people” just doesn't quite have the same effect that it surely had before 1999. Go figure."
Lance Sanchez sees ghosts. Lance Sanchez also tries his best to avoid ghosts, until he literally can't, because his new apartment is inhabited by one very confused ghost named Keith.

Summary
Keith shrugs. “I’m good with the Tower of Terror, looks fun.”
“Are you sure you can handle it? Might be too scary for you.”
Keith returns Lance's devilish grin. “I’ll be fine,” he remarks, “but what about you? You seem like the kind of person to start crying on the way up.”
